Creative Art JournalCREATIVE JOURNALING WORKSHOP – ages 10 & up
Saturday, August 8, 2-4pm. Cost: $15

Creative journaling is a fun and imaginative way to express yourself. An art journal can be the place where you write your private thoughts, short stories and genius ideas, as well as where you sketch, doodle, collage and paint. When you put it all together, it makes a rich and exciting portrait of your life!

Come and be inspired by others’ ideas and company. You’ll be surprised how much you learn about yourself, and how much fun the process of art journaling can be.

Things to Bring:
One journal of any size (unlined pages are best, and spiral bound is great as it lays flat when open)
Your collection of any paper scraps you might like to include in your journal (lists, tickets, gum wrappers, photos, etc.)
Any favorite art supplies (except messy paints, etc.)
Extra paper scraps, glue sticks, scissors and some pencils and pens will be available for use.

About the instructor: This workshop will be guided by Emily Gilmore, a longtime Book Works employee and secret artist. She has always done art, and has kept a series of art journals during the last 12 years.
